Bobcats look solid in opening meet

The Saddleback women's track & field team had a solid performance at the opening meet of the season at Bakersfield College on Saturday in Bakersfield.  Three different Bobcats won events to start the season.

Chelsea Kerr (pictured left) won two events, winning both the triple jump and long jump.  Kerr jumped 10.96 meters in the triple, which was 0.43 meters off of her career high last season.  She then leaped 5.00 meters to win the long jump, which was 0.23 meters off of her personal-best a season ago.

Isabelle Teh (pictured middle) was credited with a vault of 3.60 meters in the pole vault to capture the pole vault title on Saturday.  It equaled her best vault of the season as a freshman when she finished fourth in the state in the pole vault.

Christina Bernik (pictured right) was also a winner at Bakersfield, capturing first place in the 400 meters.  Bernik crossed the finish line in 1:06.15 in her first meet as a Bobcat.

Saddleback will be back in action this weekend at the Soka Invitational at Soka University on Saturday.
