Two Cats ready to hang with the Dogs

The Saddleback women's soccer program was back in the news this week as two members of the championship squad gave a verbal commitment to a four-year university.  Lizbeth De Loera and Averee Campos took a visit to Fresno State and have committed to the Bulldogs.

De Loera and Campos were two of five Saddleback players to take a visit this past week.  They both decided that Fresno State was a great place to continue their soccer career and plan to transfer in the spring of 2023.

De Loera was the Orange Empire Conference Offensive MVP.  She scored a team-high 16 goals during the course of the season, including 12 in conference play with four game-winning goals.  De Loera was a two-time All-OEC selection, scoring 21 goals with 14 assists in her two seasons at Saddleback (49 games).  She scored in 9-of-14 Orange Empire Conference (OEC) games this past season and had two goals in a game on three occasions.

Campos was also a two-time All-Orange Empire Conference selection after being selected to the first team this past season.  She finished with three goals and 13 assists in 2022, breaking the program record for assists in a season.  Campos had five goals and 18 assists in her two-year career at Saddleback (47 games).  She also tied the program record for assists in a game this past season when she recorded three against Irvine Valley College on October 18.

De Loera and Campos were both selected to the California Community College Soccer Coaches Association (CCCSCA) All-State Team following the season.

Fresno State is located in Fresno, California, and plays an NCAA DI schedule within the Mountain West Conference.
