Coaching staff wins national award

The Saddleback women's soccer program continues to bring home awards after winning the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) state championship and finishing No. 1 in the nation in the United Soccer Coaches rankings.  The Bobcats had their coaching staff honored this week as they were named the National Coaching Staff-of-the-Year.

Saddleback was awarded the recognition by the United Soccer Coaches, who hand out awards at every level of soccer.  The Bobcats won the award for the "Junior College III Women" category.

Saddleback is coached by BJ McNicol (head coach), Sean Melendez (associate head coach), Cole Fipps (assistant coach) and Steven Fagundes (assistant coach).

Saddleback finished 21-2-3 overall in 2022, breaking program records for most wins and most goals in a season.  The Bobcats defeated Chaffey College, 2-0, in the CCCAA State Championship on December 4.
