Bobcats still undefeated

The Saddleback women's golf team has won five straight matches to open the 2021 campaign after winning at Singing Hills Golf Resort on Monday in El Cajon.  Freshman Mariana Gandia-Mak took home medalist honors.

Saddleback was 30 shots better than its closest opponent on Monday, shooting 324 as a team.  The Bobcats were playing with tough elements as the course had just been punched and the wind was up, making for tough scoring conditions.  Saddleback took the challenges head on, breezing to its fifth straight win.

Gandia-Mak (pictured) was solid throughout, shooting a 7-over-par round of 79.  She was followed closely by teammates Sabrina Ladd (81), Amber Davalos (82) and Nicole Whipple (82) to round out the team scoring.  Ladd's round of 81 put her in a tie for third place in medalist play while Davalos and Whipple both tied for fifth. 

Saddleback will play again next Monday at Coyote Hills Golf Course in Fullerton.  Match time is set for 11:30 AM.
