Bobcats dominate in desert heat

The Saddleback women's golf team won a second straight match to start the 2021 campaign on Wednesday at Ironwood Country Club in Palm Desert.  The Bobcats battled six other squads and 108-degree temperatures in the win.

Saddleback is undefeated in Orange Empire Conference play after posting a score of 321 on Wednesday in hot and windy conditions.  The Bobcats were 24 shots in front of Orange Coast College, who finished second.

Saddleback's Nicole Whipple (pictured top) led the Bobcats with a round of 77, finishing in third place in individual medalist play.  She was backed up by a trio of solid rounds in the low 80's as Sabrina Ladd (80, pictured below), Amber Davalos (81) and Mariana Gandia-Mak (83) rounded out the team score. 

Saddleback will play again on Monday at Costa Mesa Country Club.  The first tee time is scheduled for 10:00 AM.
