Thibert makes a commitment

The Saddleback softball program was back in the news this week with the announcement that one of the players has committed to a four-year university. Anne Thibert will play at Kansas Wesleyan University, according to the softball office.

The Saddleback softball season came to a close this past week and later in the week the coaches from the Orange Empire Conference convened to determine an all-conference squad. Two members of the Bobcats were named to the team on Friday.

The Saddleback softball team ended the season on a high note with a 12-11 win in 10 innings over Orange Coast College in the Orange Empire Conference Tournament Consolation Finals on Wednesday in Costa Mesa. The Bobcats rallied from a big deficit for a thrilling extra-inning win.

The Saddleback softball team advanced to the consolation finals of the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Tournament with a 5-2 over Golden West College on Monday at the Saddleback softball diamond. The Bobcats will play at Orange Coast College on Wednesday.

The Saddleback softball team earned the No. 6 seed for the Orange Empire Conference Tournament and will travel to Santiago Canyon College for a quarterfinal game on Friday. With a win the Bobcats would advance to the semifinals and face the winner of Santa Ana College and Golden West College on Monday.
