Bobcats 10th at state finals

The Saddleback men's cross country team finished in 10th place at the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Finals on Saturday in Fresno.  It was the third best finish in program history.

Saddleback continued its improvement down the stretch with a 10th place finish on Saturday.  The Bobcats were led by Brandon Pizano-Pintor, who finished 11th overall in individual competition.  Pizano-Pintor finished the 4-mile trek in 20:30.6 to qualify for all-state status after finishing in the top 14.

Pizano-Pintor was at his best on Saturday, running the fourth fastest time in program history on the course at Fresno.  He was followed by teammates Santiago Sanchez (54th), Steven Shadell (85th), Timothy Lacanienta (104th) and Connor Ree (134th).

Saddleback's 10th place finish was the third best finish by the program in its 50-year history of competing in cross country.  Saddleback finished ninth in 2015 and sixth in 1997.
