Bobcats beat RCC for 21st win

The Saddleback men's water polo team improved to 21-5 on Wednesday with a 16-9 victory at Riverside City College. Andrew Barnuevo scored six goals and now has 75 goals for the year.
Saddleback has had one of the best seasons in the past 2+ decades in 2021. With one more win this weekend, they will tie the 2017 team that won 22 games for the most wins since 1998.
Wednesday's game took a similar tone to many this season. The Bobcats scored four straight goals in taking a 4-1 lead early in the second quarter. Andrew Barnuevo had three of them.
Saddleback ran away and hid in the fourth quarter, scoring three straight goals to start the quarter to extend the lead to 15-7. Riley Kraatz was responsible for two of them and finished with four goals in the game.
Saddleback is now 4-1 in Orange Empire Conference play and will head into the Orange Empire Conference Tournament on November 4 as the No. 2 seed. Between now and then they will participate in the Southwestern College Tournament this Saturday, playing San Diego Mesa College (9:40 AM), Cerritos College (12:00 PM) and Westcliff University (4:40 PM).
