Bobcats dominate at Cuesta

The Saddleback men's water polo team went 5-0 at the Cuesta College Invitational over the weekend, sweeping through five separate programs from Northern California.  The Bobcats outscored their opponents 110-17 in the two days in improving to 18-3 overall. 

Saddleback scored wins over Sierra College (18-3), Las Positas College (20-5), Ohlone College (26-1), Merced College (25-3) and Modesto College (21-5), serving notice to the northern half of the state. 

Saddleback opened with an 18-3 win on Friday as Andrew Barnuevo scored six goals to pace the Bobcats.  In game two on Friday, Alec Isaacman and Jack Stevens scored four goals apiece as Saddleback cruised to a 20-5 win over Las Positas.  The Bobcats finished off day one when 13 different players netted goals in a 26-1 whitewash of Ohlone. 

Saddleback opened the second day with a 25-3 win against Modesto, with Stevens registering a team-high four goals in the win.  The Bobcats finished with a 21-5 win against Modesto.  Barnuevo had seven goals for Saddleback in the win.

Saddleback is now 18-3 overall and will head back into Orange Empire Conference play this week when they travel to Santa Ana College on Wednesday.  The Bobcats and Dons are scheduled to start at 3:00 PM.
