Bobcats too much for Concordia

The Saddleback men's water polo team improved to 5-1 on the season with a 10-6 win against Concordia University in Irvine on Friday afternoon.  The Bobcats never trailed in the game in turning back the Eagles.

Saddleback jumped out to a 5-3 lead at halftime thanks to three goals from Alec Isaacman and two by Jack Stevens.  The two teams were tied at 3-3 when Stevens connected on back-to-back goals in the final four minutes of the half for the advantage.

Saddleback extended the lead to 6-3 to open the third quarter at 7:29 as Isaacman scored his fourth goal of the game.  The Bobcats would finish the quarter with goals from Stevens and Jackson Butler to take a commanding 9-5 lead with one quarter remaining.

Isaacman would finish with a game-high four goals on five shots while Stevens (pictured) scored three times on five shots.

Nathan James started and played the entire game in goal, turning back 13 Eagle shots on the afternoon.

Saddleback starts Orange Empire Conference play next Wednesday against perennial power Golden West College inside the Saddleback Aquatics Center.  Game time is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
