Bobcats set new PB’s at Occidental

The Saddleback men's track & field team was in action this past weekend at the Occidental Distance Carnival at Occidental College.  A handful of Bobcats had personal-best times and scores at the meet.

Daniel May has been a leader throughout the spring so far and again had another stellar performance on Saturday.  May had a personal-best toss in the discus throw (41.35m) while finishing first in the event.  It was the 13th longest throw in the state this season.  He then went out and finished second in the javelin with his best throw of the season with a fling of 55.77-meters.  It was the second best throw in the state this season and just shy of his personal-best (57.34m).

Two other Bobcats finished fourth at the meet in their respective events with Caden Delgado and Ryan Horner having personal-best performances.  Delgado had a personal-best in the pole vault with a vault of 4.20-meters, which was good enough for fourth place at the event and the 15th highest vault of the season so far in the state.  Horner finished fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 12.87-meters, which was the 21st longest leap of the year in the state.

Sean McEwen also had a personal-best in finishing ninth in the 400 meters.  McEwen crossed the finish line in 50.58 seconds, which was the 33rd fastest time in the state this season.

One other top-10 performance was turned in by Micah Crosby, who was seventh in the pole vault with a vault of 4.05-meters.

Saddleback will be back in action this Friday and Saturday at the Cal State Los Angeles Meet.
