May finishes season on the podium

The Saddleback men's track & field season came to a close on Saturday at the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) State Track & Field Finals and Modesto Junior College.  Daniel May finished the season on the podium for the Bobcats in the javelin.

May had a sensational run towards the end of the season.  He captured the Orange Empire Conference championship in late April with a season-best toss of 57.34 meters.  He later finished fifth at the Southern California Regional Finals heading into the state meet this past weekend.

May finished the season with a seventh place finish at the state meet over the weekend at Modesto, collecting a couple of team points for the program.  He had a throw of 52.56 meters on his second attempt in earning the final spot on the podium.

In addition to May, Alec Delgado earned a point for Saddleback when he finished eighth in the high jump on Saturday.  Delgado cleared 1.93 meters on his first attempt.  The leap was just 0.02 short of his best jump of the year at the Orange Empire Conference Finals.

Saddleback finished the weekend with three team points, which put them in 34th place in the state.
