Bobcats 11th at regional finals

The Saddleback men's track & field team finished 11th at the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Southern California Regional Finals on Friday at Moorpark College.

Saddleback had three athletes with top-10 performances in Brandon Pizano-Pintor, Koa Kosco and Sam Gatta.  The trio accumulated 13 points, putting them just two points away from a top-10 performance.

Pizano-Pintor finished sixth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase on Friday in a time of 9:49.09.  It was the second straight sub-10-minute steeple for Pizano-Pintor (pictured), who has the A standard for qualifying purposes.

Kosco tied a personal best when he cleared 4.35 meters (14' 3.25") in the pole vault.  It put Kosco in fifth place in the event and tied him for 10th in the state this season.

Gatta finished in third place in the shot put when he had a toss of 14.97 meters (49' 1.5") on his fifth and final throw.  It was easily Gatta's best throw of the season and put him in seventh place in the state this year.

Saddleback will compete again at the CCCAA State Championships next Friday and Saturday at Mt. San Antonio College.
