Saddleback’s Hong named Student of the Year

The Saddleback men's track and field team was back in the news this week when it was announced that a member of the 2020 team had been named the Student of the Year by the National Collegiate Honors Council.

Preston Hong was a freshman in 2020 and participated in three meets before the season was cut short due to the Coronavirus.  His best performance came at the Orange Empire Conference Invitational when he finished in 10th place in the 100 meters (11.63) and 14th place in the 200 meters (23.89).

Hong came to Saddleback from Laguna Hills High School where he lettered in track & field before graduating in 2019.

The National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC) Student of the Year is presented to honors students from two-year programs who have made an impact on their honors program, and is selected by the NCHC Student Affairs Committee.
