Men’s swim 4th at OCC

The Saddleback men's swim and dive team was in action this week and finished fourth at the opening Orange Empire Conference Meet at Orange Coast College on Friday.  The Bobcats had a number of top-10 performances.

Saddleback was led by Chase Campbell, who had an outstanding meet.  Campbell finished second in the 200 Backstroke (2:08.58), and third in both the 200 Individual Medley (2:06.12) and 200 Breaststroke (1:04.66) to pick up 49 points for the team. 

Perhaps the two best individual performances were turned in by Jacob Frailey, who won both the 1-Meter Dive (189.07) and 3-Meter Dive (166.04) to pick up 40 points for the team.

Will Prawira had two top-5 performances when he finished fifth in both the 100 Breaststroke (1:06.05) and 200 Breaststroke (2:26.99).

Jared Chavez had two top-10 performances, finishing fourth in the 1650 Freestyle and ninth in the 500 Freestyle (5:26.48).  Joining Chavez with two top-10 performances was Scott Olsen and Steven Draggoo.  Olsen was seventh in the 200 Backstroke (2:18.95) and 100 Backstroke (1:03.50).  Draggoo was ninth in both the 200 Backstroke (2:25.14) and 100 Backstroke (1:03.86). 

 Two other top-10 performances were turned in when Donald Robertson finished seventh in the 200 Freestyle (1:52.60) and Ryan Ortiz was 10th in the 1650 Freestyle (21:15.09).

Saddleback's relay teams finished fourth in both the 200 Freestyle Relay (1:35.35) and 200 Medley Relay (1:46.09).

Saddleback will be back in the water on March 24 at another Orange Empire Conference event.
