Bobcats third at OCC meet

The Saddleback men's swimming and dive team finished in third place at the first Orange Empire Conference meet of the season at Orange Coast College on Friday.  Jack Stevens had a big day for the Bobcats.

Stevens (pictured) participated in three events, winning the 50 Freestyle while finishing second in both the 200 Individual Medley (2:04.45) and 200 Fly (1:56.88).  His time of 21.75 in the 50 Freestyle was 0.26 seconds ahead of his closest competitor and ranked just outside the top-10 in program history.  In total, Stevens collected 54 of the teams 332 total points for the day.  He also swam the final leg of the 200 Freestyle Relay and the third leg of the 200 Medley Relay as the Bobcats finished third and second, respectively.

Chase Campbell finished second on the team with 45 individual points while Carson Williams had 44.  Campbell finished second in the 100 Fly (55.19) and fifth in both the 100 Backstroke (58.56) and 200 Backstroke (2:10.27).  Williams was second in the 100 Freestyle (49.35) while finishing fifth in the 50 Freestyle (22.85) and sixth in the 100 Backstroke (49.35).

Saddleback will be back in the water on March 25 when they travel to Riverside City College for another Orange Empire Conference meet.
