Bobcats show teeth at Arroyo

The Saddleback men's golf team improved to 8-0 in Orange Empire Conference (OEC) play with a dominating win at Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club on Monday in Mission Viejo.  The Bobcats fired 371 to win by 21 shots.

For the first time all season the weather managed to cooperate after terrible conditions the first five matches of the season.  The Bobcats responded with the best round of the season, posting a team total of 371 (+11). 

Saddleback's Jack Shipton had his best round of the season in shooting 1-under-par (71) to capture medalist honors.  Shipton (pictured) was 3-under-par on the back nine, making an eagle on the par-5, 14^th hole. 

Declan Lane had a round of 73 (+1) to finish tied for second in medalist play.  Aidan Valdez shot 75 while both Denis Watson and Arthur Hess shot 76 to round out the team scoring.

Saddleback's 371 was one shot better than a round of 372 at Navy Golf Course last week.  The Bobcats are scheduled to play again on Wednesday at Los Serranos Golf Club in Chino Hills, weather permitting.
