Bobcats second at Cuyamaca Classic

Bobcats second at Cuyamaca Classic

The Saddleback men's golf team finished in second place at the Cuyamaca Classic on Wednesday at Cottonwood Golf Club in El Cajon.  Carson Adams took home medalist honors at the event.

It was an awful day for golf.  The round started with rain and hail and didn't get much better as a consistent wind made playing conditions extremely difficult.  The Bobcats pressed forward, making the best of a tough situation.

One player that didn't let the conditions get to him was Adams, who shot 71 (-1) to lead all golfers at the event.  He was followed by Aidan Valdez, who shot 74 (+2) to finish fifth in medalist play.  Rounding out the team score was Jack Shipton (78), Clayton Smith (79) and Declan Lane (80) for a team total of 382.

Saddleback had three others playing as individuals and all of them played quite well considering the conditions.  Arthur Hess fired a round of 73 (+1) to finish tied for second in medalist play.  Jonathan Shelton and Aidan Devlin both shot 78 (+6).

Saddleback is scheduled to play again on Monday in the Riverside City College Invitational, weather permitting.  The first tee time is scheduled for 11:00 AM at Victoria Country Club.
