Bobcats 4th at SoCal Preview

The Saddleback men's golf team finished in fourth place at the Southern California Preview Tournament on Monday at Olivas Links in Ventura.  Patrick Jaksch led the Bobcats with a round of 71.

Olivas Links is the site of the Southern California Regional Finals in May so all of the squads from the SoCal ranks were in attendance for the preview on Monday.  Saddleback was very competitive, finishing in fourth place and seven strokes behind the leader, College of the Canyons.  The top five teams were separated by just eight strokes, making for an interesting preview of what is to come in May.

Jaksch shot a 1-under-par round of 71 to finish in a tie for sixth place in medalist play.  He was followed closely by Denis Watson (73), Zachary Stout (74), Declan Lane (76) and Arthur Hess (76). 

College of the Canyons led the team competition with a team score of 363 while Ventura's Evan Colburn shot 67 (-5) to win in medalist play.  Saddleback's main rival in Orange Empire Conference play in 2022 has been Cypress College, who finished in third with a team score of 367.
