Bobcats 2nd at OEC opener

The Saddleback men's golf team finished in second place at the first Orange Empire Conference match of the season on Monday at Candlewood Country Club in Whittier.  The Bobcats were led by Denis Watson.

Saddleback had five rounds in the 70's but wasn't able to keep pace with host Cypress College on their own course.  The Bobcats finished 3-1 for the day, beating Orange Coast College, Cuyamaca College and El Camino College.

Saddleback was led by Watson (pictured), who shot a round of 72 to finish in third in medalist play on the par-70 trek.  Cypress was led by Adam Naaman (70) and Willis Panzarello (71), who finished 1-2 in medalist play as the Chargers shot +12 (362) as a team.

Saddleback had four others in the 70's with Declan Lane (76), Dustin Vasquez (76), Arthur Hess (78) and Zachary Stout (78).

Saddleback will host the Orange Empire Conference next Monday at Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club.
