Bobcats solid at Riverside Invitational
The Saddleback men's golf team was solid in finishing 2nd and 11th at the Riverside City College Invitational at Victoria Country Club on Monday in Riverside. The Bobcats sent two squads in finishing two shots back of Orange Coast.
Saddleback has a deep team in 2022. The Bobcats are so deep that they were one of two programs to field two units on Monday. The Saddleback "A" team finished second with a round of 385 while the "B" team finished 11th out of 16 teams (14 schools) with a score of 395.
Interestingly Saddleback's best score of the day came from Trevor Allensworth, who was on the "B" roster on Monday. Allensworth (2nd from left) shot an even par round of 72 to finish in a five-way tie for medalist honors. He was 1-over-par on the front nine (36) while shooting 1-under par on the back nine (36).
Saddleback's "A" roster consisted of Declan Lane (74), Denis Watson (75), Arthur Hess (77), Patrick Jaksch (79), Dustin Vasquez (80) and Zachary Stout (81). The "B" roster consisted of Allensworth (72), Clayton Smith (78), Erik Gjertsen (81), Aidan Valdez (81) and Aidan Devlin (83).
Saddleback men's golf will play again next Monday at Candlewood Country Club in Whittier.
