The Saddleback men’s basketball team was back in the news this week with the announcement that one of the players from the 2023-24 team has committed to a four-year university. Sophomore John McFadden committed to Alaska Anchorage.

The Saddleback men’s basketball season came to a close on Saturday night with a 74-43 loss to West Los Angeles College in the 3C2A Regional Finals in Culver City. The Bobcats finished the season 17-14 overall.

The Saddleback athletics department learned on Monday that two Bobcats swept the Orange Empire Conference Athlete-of-the-Week Awards for this past week. Men’s basketball player James Burries and softball pitcher Alexa Pfutzenreuter both had outstanding performances in winning the weekly award.

The Saddleback men’s basketball team advanced to the regional finals with an 80-74 upset of Chaffey College on Saturday night in Rancho Cucamonga. The Bobcats will play at West Los Angeles College next Saturday for a chance to go to the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) State Tournament.
