10 Bobcats make All-League Team

The Saddleback football season came to a close this past weekend and the conference coaches convened this week to determine an all-league team.  The Bobcats had 10 players named to the All-National Division Southern League Team.

Saddleback was well-represented at the post-season meetings when they had 10 players selected to the All-National Division Southern League Team, with six players making the first team and four players making the second team.

Saddleback's offensive line had two players selected in center Christian Herrera and guard Darren Wiancko.  The duo was part of an offensive line that helped the offense average 401 yards of offense and 34.3 points-per-game.

Tight end Seth Lyon and kicker Kian Afrookhteh were also named to the first team offense.  Lyon finished the season with a pair of touchdowns on the season, including a 52-yard scamper down the sidelines against Palomar College.  Afrookhteh was a consistent force in the kicking game, leading the team with 89 points while making 16-of-19 field goals and missing just one extra point the entire season.

Safety Michael D'Amato led the team with 67 tackles and 7.5 tackles-for-loss in being named to the first team defense.  Joining him was Jackson Irwin, who was named to the defense as a utility player after finishing with 14 tackles, four tackles-for-loss and 2.5 sacks.

Saddleback had four other players named to the All-National Division Southern League Second Team in L'Cier Luter (DT), Bryce Crider (DE), Travis Arena (LB) and Will Craven (return specialist).
