Marton makes it a baker’s dozen
The Saddleback football program was back in the news on Thursday as another member of the 2022 squad committed to a four-year program on the regular signing day for four-year football programs this week. Wide receiver Simeon Marton became the 13th player to commit since the end of the season.
Marton committed to Chadron State University, located in located in Chadron, Nebraska. The Eagles plan an NCAA DII schedule within the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Marton will join teammate Deonte Jackson, who committed to Chadron State in December during the early signing period.
Marton led Saddleback with 27 receptions for the season, totaling 234 yards receiving. He also returned eight punts for the year on special teams. Following the season Marton was named to the All-National Division Southern League Team as a punt-return specialist.
Marton lettered in football and soccer at Capistrano Valley Christian High School before graduating in 2020. While at CVCHS, Marton was the offensive player-of-the-year as a senior and led the team in receiving touchdowns.
Marton becomes the 13th member of the 2022 squad to commit to a four-year university.
