Bobcats now up to 12 transfers

The Saddleback football program continued to turn out headlines this week when the football office announced that two more players from the 2022 squad have transferred to four-year institutions.  Mason Young and Austin McKinney are the latest commitments, giving the Bobcats 12 heading into the spring semester.

Saddleback has been red hot with transfers and rumors persist that more could be on the way.  The latest were Young and McKinney, who are already at Idaho State and Northwest Missouri State, respectively. 

Young took a visit to Idaho State and liked it so much that he opted to commit and move immediately to be a part of the Bengal program. Young finished the season with 12 tackles and one pass break-ups in three games.  He had 42 tackles, 3.5 tackles-for-loss, one interception, six pass break-ups and two blocked kicks in 12 games for his career.  Idaho State is located in Pocatello, Idaho, and plays an NCAA DI schedule within the Big Sky Conference.

McKinney was a Second Team All-National Division Southern League selection this past season when he finished with 33 total tackles while leading the team with three interceptions.  He left for Northwest Missouri State at the end of the fall semester.  Northwest Missouri State is located in Maryville, Missouri, and plays an NCAA DII schedule within the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association.  The Bearcats finished 8-3 in 2022, making it to the second round of the NCAA DII playoffs.

The two additional commitments makes 12 for the season for the Saddleback football program.
