Owens is the latest commit on the move
The Saddleback football program was back in the news this week with the announcement that another member of the 2021 squad has committed to a four-year university. Sean Owens was the latest commit, bringing the total to 17 for the year.
Owens will play at Lindenwood University, located in St. Charles, Missouri. The Lions recently made the jump to NCAA D1 football with a move to the Ohio Valley Conference this fall.
Owens finished fourth on the team with 32 total tackles in 2021, leading the team in both tackles-for-loss (8) and sacks (4.5). He played in 19 games at Saddleback in 2019 and 2021, finishing with 59 tackles, 12.5 tackles-for-loss and six sacks. In addition to his success on the field, Owens was named to the SCFA All-Academic Team after the fall season.
Owens lettered in football at Corona del Mar High School before graduating in 2019. While at CDMHS, Owens was a three-time All-CIF selection, two-time PCL Dream Team selection and a two-time offensive lineman-of-the-year.
Owens is the 17th athlete in the program to commit to a four-year university this off-season.
