Add Gabriel Colborn to the Bobcat commit list
The Saddleback football program has been rolling as of late, with a number of players from the 2021 squad committing to four-year universities. The Bobcats are now up to 14 after Gabriel Colborn made a commitment on Monday.
Saddleback football has a proud tradition of athletes transferring to four-year universities but with COVID-19 creating turmoil with the four-year rosters and the addition of the NCAA transfer portal, some wondered how many would get opportunities moving forward. The Bobcats seem to have weathered the obstructions just fine, with Colborn becoming the 14th member of the program to make a commitment.
Colborn gave a verbal commitment to Chowan University on Monday. Chowan is located in Murfreesboro, North Carolina, and plays an NCAA D2 schedule within the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Hawks finished 7-3 overall in 2021.
Colborn (6'2, 240) finished with 16 tackles, 2.5 tackles-for-loss and 1.5 sacks in 2021. His biggest performance of the season came in week nine when he registered four total tackles against Fullerton College.
Colborn was a product of Frederick Douglass High School in Maryland. He becomes the 14th member of the Saddleback football program to commit to a four-year program this off-season.
