The Saddleback football program was back in the news on Wednesday with the announcement of another commitment to a four-year program. Tight end Boden Groen has given a verbal to Rice University and will visit the school this weekend.
Groen becomes the 10th member of the program to give a commitment to a four-year program for the spring. The 6-foot-4, 235-pound prospect out of Mater Dei is fresh off being named the No. 12 ranked community college tight end prospect in the nation according to JCGridiron.com.
Groen finished with 14 catches for 152 yards and a touchdown during his freshman campaign in 2021. He had catches in nine games this season with a season-high of 40 yards receiving against Ventura College on October 2.
