Bobcats land 10 on all-conference squad
The Southern California Football Association named its all-conference teams this past week and 10 members of the 2021 squad were named to the National Division Southern League Team. Four members of the team were named to the first team and six to the second team.
Saddleback finished 4-6 in 2021 and had one of the youngest teams in the division. The Bobcats finished on a high note in winning two of its last three games, and now has 10 players that can call themselves all-conference.
Saddleback had four players named to the first team, with two being named to the offensive team and two to the defensive team. Offensive linemen Roie Lachmish and William Cvar were both named to the offensive squad while corner Korvin Feagins and punter Dylan Widner were named to the defensive squad.
Lachmish and Cvar were part of an offensive line that helped the Bobcats rush for 124 yards-per-game during the season. The Bobcats had over 100 yards rushing seven times this season, including a 293-yard performance in week one against Glendale College. Lachmish was a freshman from Mission Viejo High School while Cvar was a freshman from JSerra High School.
Feagins was a star on the back end of the defense for Saddleback, leading the team in interceptions (3) while finishing second in pass break-ups (7). Widner was a difference maker in the special teams, averaging 37.6 yards-per-punt while pinning opponents inside the 20-yard line on 21 occasions. Feagins was a sophomore from St. Louis High School (HI) while Widner was a freshman from Mission Viejo High School.
Saddleback had six others included in the SCFA Southern League Second Team. Tight end Boden Groen and wide receivers Yasir Berry (all-purpose) and Samuel Hicks were named to the offensive team while defensive lineman Bryce Crider, linebacker Isaiah Sierra and kick returner Daniel Stokes were named to the defensive squad.
