Wilford makes Pac 12 decision

The Saddleback baseball program was back in the news this week with the announcement that another one of the players has made a commitment to a four-year university.  Pitcher Connor Wilford says he will play at Washington State University, according to the baseball office.

The baseball season ended with an abrupt halt this past weekend in the regional finals but the recruitment of the players continues.  Wilford becomes the fourth commitment of the season after giving a verbal commitment to Washington State.

Wilford had a sensational year for the Bobcats, finishing 11-2 with a 3.07 ERA.  He was named to the All-Orange Empire Conference First Team after the season for his efforts.

Wilford struck out a season-high nine batters on three occasions this season, walking just 14 batters in 96.2 innings of work.

Wilford will play at Washington State University, located in Pullman, Washington.  The Cougars play an NCAA DI schedule within the Pac 12 Conference.  Washington State finished 27-26 in 2022.

Wilford becomes the fourth member of the 2022 squad to sign at a four-year university.
