Dissin is third Saddleback commit

The Saddleback baseball team was back in the news this weekend with the announcement of another member of the team making a commitment to a four-year university.  Catcher Jordan Dissin becomes the third Bobcat to make a commitment this spring as he gave a pledge to UC San Diego.

Saddleback has had quit a season so far, boasting a 26-8 record and the No. 2 ranking in the latest California Community College Sports Information Association (CCCSIA) Poll this past week.  With the successes comes attention from four-year schools, which is what has happened so far this spring.

Jordan Dissin is the latest Saddleback baseball player to make a commitment as he has plans to transfer to UC San Diego.  The Tritons are an NCAA DI program playing within the Big West Conference.  He is the third member of the team to make a commitment, following Michael Davinni (Coastal Carolina) and Luc Stuka (Cal State Northridge).

Dissin has had a big spring for the Bobcats, batting .388 with three home runs and 35 RBI.  He leads the team with 21 bases-on-balls and has a .497 on-base percentage, which ranks 17th in the state among players that have played more than 30 games.  Dissin has also been solid behind the plate, boasting a .985 fielding percentage while throwing out nine runners attempting to steal.

Dissin came to Saddleback from the University of Richmond where he played in three games for the Spiders last spring.  Previous to UR, Dissin lettered in baseball at Malvern Prep (PA) before graduating in 2020.  While at MP, Dissin was part of a state championship program.
