Singh looks fine-tuned against Lasers

The Saddleback baseball team won another Orange Empire Conferemce series after beating Irvine Valley College, 5-1, in game two of the three-game series at Irvine Valley on Thursday.  Dylan Singh silenced the IVC bats as the Bobcats improved to 23-8 overall.

Singh had arguably his best performance of the year, pitching into the seventh inning before giving way to Ryan Cullinane out of the bullpen.  He gave up five hits and one walk while striking out three in improving to 5-1 on the season.  Singh (pictured) left the mound with a 4-1 lead, allowing just two base-runners over the first four innings of work.

Saddleback took a 4-0 lead over the first three innings, scoring once in the second inning and three more times in the third inning.  The big blow came in the third inning when Lance Gardiner doubled home both Luc Stuka and Michael Davinni for a 3-0 lead.  Gardiner would finish with a team-high three hits, finishing 3-for-4 with two RBI.

The Bobcats added an insurance run in the eighth inning when Jacob Naso singled home Zachary Schwartzberg, who had walked to start the inning.

The Bobcats and Lasers will meet in game three at Saddleback on Friday at 2:00 PM.
