Beach splits in OEC play


The Saddleback women's beach volleyball team split a pair of matches with Fullerton College and Irvine Valley College on Friday.  The Bobcats now have five wins on the season.

Saddleback opened with a 3-1 win against Fullerton College.  The Bobcats opened with wins at the 1's and 2's before clinching the match with a win at the 4's. 

Eva Gardner and Tyler Ebrahimzadeh were 21-11, 21-16 winners against Amelia Hahs and Angie Alvarado on court one.  Simultaneously, Sarah Patin and Delaney Wilson defeated Sofia Chua and Arianna Islas, 21-13, 21-13 on court two.

Saddleback had to go to a third set on court four for the win.  Eventually, Sareh Tajik and Nadia Madani worked their way back after losing a first set to win a three-set thriller, 18-21, 21-19, 18-16.

Saddleback fell to first place Irvine Valley College, 0-4, later in the day.

Saddleback is now 5-9 overall and 2-7 in Orange Empire Conference (OEC) play.  The Bobcats will continue with OEC competition on Friday against Cypress College and Riverside City College at the Pierce Sports Center.
