Choi signs deal with Ottawa

The Saddleback women's water polo program was back in the news on Wednesday with one of the athletes signing at a four-year university.  Maddie Choi inked a deal with Ottawa University to play water polo for the Spirit. 

Choi played for two seasons at Saddleback.  She competed in all 26 games this past fall for the Gauchos, finishing with 29 goals and 20 assists.  Choi's biggest game of the season came against Orange Coast College on October 10 when she netted four goals in an 15-9 win over the Pirates

In her two seasons at Saddleback, Choi had 41 goals and 28 assists.  Previous to Saddleback, Choi lettered in water polo at Northwood High School before graduating in 2016.

Ottawa is a new program that will play under the NAIA umbrella this fall as an independent.
