The Saddleback women's water polo team won three games at the West Valley College Invitational on Friday and Saturday in Saratoga, California. The Gauchos are now 7-1 heading into the first Orange Empire Conference match next week.
Saddleback left town at 4-0 and wondered how they would fare on a long road trip in an unfamiliar environment. The Gauchos found out they are ready for conference play by beating 3-of-4 teams they played.
Saddleback opened the tournament on Friday with a dominating 18-4 win against Sacramento City College before dropping a close one to West Valley College, 16-14. The Gauchos rebounded from their first loss of the season with two wins on Saturday, beating Santa Rosa Junior College, 14-8, and Cuesta College, 12-9.
Saddleback will open OEC play at home against Golden West College on Wednesday. Match time is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
