Three more Gauchos make commitments

The Saddleback women's volleyball program is back in the news this week with the announcement of three more players giving a verbal commitment to a four-year program.  Jillian HewittIreland Ridill and Kiana Camargo have all decided to play at Marymount California University this fall.

All three players have committed to play indoor volleyball for the Mariners, who were a start-up program this past fall and finished a respectable 9-14 overall and 7-9 in conference play despite being a first-year program.  Marymount plays under the NAIA umbrella in the California Pacific Conference and finished in fifth place in the nine-team conference last fall.

Hewitt played indoors as a freshman for Saddleback in 2017, competing in eight matches for the Gauchos.  She was also a two-year starter on the beach volleyball team for Saddleback.

Ridill competed in both indoors and beach volleyball this season for Saddleback.  She played in 19 indoor matches last fall for the Gauchos, leading the team in blocks while finishing third on the team in assists.

Camargo played two years indoors and two years on the beach, making the All-Orange Empire Conference First Team this past fall for indoors.  She led the team in assists (719) and was fourth on the team in digs (189), with a season-high of 53 assists against Rio Hondo College on September 7.

Marymount California University is located Palos Verdes, California.
