Gillis signs with Wyoming

The Saddleback women's track & field program was back in the news this week when the T&F office announced that sophomore Anna Gillis has signed a letter of intent.  Gillis signed with the University of Wyoming and will compete for the Cowboys this coming season. 

Gillis had a sensational two years at Saddleback and finished her career with a third place finish in the hammer throw and fifth place finish in the discus at the state finals in May.   Gillis won the Southern California title a week earlier and was the Orange Empire Conference champion. 

Gillis ranks No. 7 all time in Saddleback history in the hammer throw after a toss of 51.59 meters at the Southern California Championships.  She will continue her athletic career at the University of Wyoming, located in Laramie, Wyoming.  The Cowboys compete in the Mountain West Conference and finished fifth at the MWC Finals in May.

Gillis graduated from San Clemente High School in 2016.
