The Saddleback women’s soccer program is back in the news this week as former assistant coach Sean Melendez has been tabbed the associate head coach of the program. Melendez has been with the program since 2012.

The Saddleback women’s soccer team opened the playoffs with a 4-0 win over Long Beach City College on Saturday night inside the Saddleback stadium. The Bobcats advance to the second round on Tuesday night against Ventura College.
Medley named Conference MVP

The regular season is over, which means it was time for the coaches in the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) to meet this week and determine an All-Orange Empire Conference Team. Saddleback’s Maliyah Medley was named the conference MVP after leading the Bobcats to an OEC title.

For the first time in history the Saddleback women’s soccer program can call themselves Orange Empire Conference champions after defeating Irvine Valley College, 6-0, on Friday at the Great Park in Irvine. The Bobcats now head to the playoffs after recording their 18th shutout of the season.

The Saddleback women’s soccer team improved to 16-1-2 on the season with a 4-0 win at Fullerton College on Tuesday in Fullerton. The Bobcats are now tied for first place after Cypress College upset Santiago Canyon College in other Orange Empire Conference play.

The Saddleback women’s soccer team won its 15th game of the season on Friday with a 2-0 victory over Golden West College inside the stadium. The Bobcats tied up the Rustlers defensively, surrendering very few scoring opportunities, while setting a new team scoring record.

The Saddleback women’s soccer team won at Santiago Canyon College on Tuesday, 1-0, in Orange. The Bobcats scored in the first minute and made it stick in giving the Hawks their first loss of the season.

The Saddleback women’s soccer team improved to 13-0-2 on Tuesday night with a 3-1 win at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa. Orange Coast scored a goal in the 65th minute, however, ending a streak of 1,325 minutes without allowing a goal.

The Saddleback women’s soccer team kept its shutout streak alive with a 6-0 win against inter-district rival Irvine Valley College on Monday afternoon in the Saddleback stadium. The Bobcats flooded the Laser net with goals while improving to 12-0-2 on the season.

The Saddleback women’s soccer team recorded its 12th straight shutout to start the season with a 2-0 victory over Orange Coast College on Wednesday night inside the Saddleback Stadium. The Bobcats have now outscored opponents 45-0 for the year and tied the program record for shutouts in a season.
