Gauchos do battle with CSUDH in scrimmage

The Saddleback fall sport season is about to begin and the soccer team opened the season with a scrimmage against NCAA DII Cal State Dominguez Hills.  The Gauchos played gamely with the four-year school despite playing shorthanded.

Saddleback fell to CSUDH 2-0, but played without 2015 leading scorer Emilee Monnig, who had the night off.  The Gauchos fell behind early and played even with the Toros from that point forward.

"They scored early and we looked a little nervous to start," head coach BJ McNicol said.  "After that we settled in and played fine.  Everybody played in the scrimmage and had a lot of fun."

Saddleback will open the regular season at Cuyamaca College on Tuesday, August 30.  The game is set for 2:00 PM.
