Women’s golf wins at Singing Hills

The Saddleback women's golf team had its best round of the season on Monday at Singing Hills Golf Club in El Cajon.    The Gauchos shot 322 in winning their first Orange Empire Conference match of the season.

Saddleback has either finished second or third in every tournament this season and finally pushed through with a win  The victory puts Saddleback back into second place in the OEC standings.

Katie Stribling shot 75 on the par-72 layout to finish in a tie for medalist honors with Mt. San Antonio's Precious Saelee.  Stribling and Saelee are currently running neck-and-neck for the season-long race for the conference player-of-the-year.

Joining Stribling in the 70's was Sunhae Son, who shot 79 on Monday.  Solid rounds were also turned in by Anna Stowers (83) and Lauren Lee (85) as Saddleback shot its second lowest team score of the season.

Conference-leader College of the Desert shot 327 to finish second while Mt. San Antonio shot 329 to finish third.

Saddleback will be back in action next Monday when they play in the SoCal Preview at Royal Vista Golf Course.
