Stribling wins at Royal Vista
The Saddleback women's golf team finished in third place at the third Orange Empire Conference match of the season at Royal Vista Golf Club in Rowland Heights on Wednesday. Katie Stribling won medalist honors by shooting +2.
Stribling transferred in from Irvine Valley College after the Lasers dropped their program during the offseason. She finished in fourth place at the CCCAA finals last season and has quickly made her presence felt since arriving.
Stribling fired a 2-over-par round of 73 on Wednesday in moving up two spots in the OEC individual standings. She has opened with rounds of 75, 80 and 73 over the first three events and sits four strokes back of Mt. San Antonio College's Precious Saelee (74-76-74).
Stribling was part of a Gaucho squad that finished with a team score of 342 on Wednesday. The Gauchos finished seven shots off the pace set by College of the Desert and one shot back of Mt. San Antonio College.
