Wilkerson earns All-OEC honor

The Saddleback softball season came to a close this week and now that it's over it was time for the Orange Empire Conference coaches to meet and select an all-conference team.  Haliegh Wilkerson was selected to the second team on Thursday at the conference meeting.

Wilkerson led the Gauchos in eight different categories, leading the team in batting average (.299), slugging percentage (.536), home runs (4), triples (3), doubles (5), hits (29), runs scored (23) and at-bats (97). 

It was the second straight season that Wilkerson has made the All-OEC Team after being selected to the second team in 2016-17.  The Trabuco Hills High School graduate was a two-year starter for Saddleback, playing in 72 games.  She had a .328 batting average in her two years with the Gauchos, hitting nine home runs with 39 RBI in 204 at-bats.

In addition to playing softball, Wilkerson spent the past two seasons as part of the women's basketball program.
