Rebrukh finishes fourth at 1-meter

The Saddleback men's swim and dive team currently sits in 15th place through two days at the state finals in Northern California. Diver Jeff Rebrukh has been the catalyst so far and earned his second medal on Friday.

Rebrukh opened the meet with a fifth place finish on Thursday in the 3-meter diving competition with a score of 181.85 points.  He improved on that number on Friday when he finished fourth in the 1-meter dive with a total of 202.25.  As a result of finishing in the top-8 at the state finals, Rebrukh earned All-America honors in both events.  It was the second straight year of finishing in the top-8 in both events after finishing sixth in both events last year.

Saddleback is currently in 15th place in the team competition through two days with one more day of competition on Saturday.  Other Gauchos to earn points for the team in the opening two days were Andrew Dimino, Keyan Boniadi and the 800 Free Relay Team.

Dimino finished in 15th place in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:45.40.  The time ranks 16th in the history of the Saddleback swim program.

Boniadi was 13th in the 400 Individual Medley by hitting the wall in 4:15.52, which was the 10th fastest time in program history.

The 800 Free Relay Team set a new program-best by finishing ninth in a time of 7:08.20.

Saddleback will conclude the season today in Cupertino, California.
