Eldridge wins weekly honor from SCFA

Saddleback wide receiver Liam Eldridge was named the Southern California Football Association Offensive Player-of-the-Week on Tuesday.  Eldridge helped the Gauchos to a 45-20 win at College of the Canyons on Saturday in Santa Clarita.

Eldridge had a breakout game for the Gauchos, reeling in 10 balls for 169 yards and three touchdowns.  It was easily the best game of his career at Saddleback after catching 14 balls during the 2017 season.

Eldridge caught a 12-yard touchdown pass from Chance Nolan at the 1:29 mark of the second quarter to give the Gauchos a 17-10 lead.  The duo then connected a second time in a matter of 1:23 for a 10-yard score to give the Gauchos a 24-10 lead at the half.  Eldridge then took a pass from Devan Freedland late in the fourth quarter (29 yards) as Saddleback rolled to a 45-20 win.

Eldridge is a sophomore from San Clemente High School where he lettered in both football and baseball before graduating in 2016.
