Fresenius commits to four-year program

Saddleback volleyball was back in the news this week when the volleyball office announced that Ayla Fresenius has made a verbal commitment to UC Riverside.  Fresenius played beach volleyball for the Gauchos this spring and will play indoors for the Highlanders.

Fresenius came to Saddleback this spring from the University of Nevada where she played indoors for the Wolfpack.  Previous to UN, Fresenius lettered in volleyball, tennis and track at Dana Hills High School before graduating in 2016.

Fresenius currently plays No. 1 pairs for the Saddleback beach program and advanced along with teammate Nickie Hughes to the round of 16 at the Orange Empire Conference Pairs Championships on Wednesday.   Fresenius and Hughes are 11-3 on the season and were the No. 4 seed at this year's OEC Pairs Championships.
