Clauss starts tenure at Saddleback

The Saddleback athletics department is happy to announce that Dan Clauss has started his tenure as the new Dean of Kinesiology and Athletics/Athletics Director.  Clauss was hired this past month to replace Tony Lipold, who will officially retire at the end of the month.

Clauss brings over 13 years of experience in community college athletics, including teaching and coaching.  He most recently served as the director of athletics at Cerritos College where he oversaw all aspects of the athletics department including Title IX compliance, fundraising, personnel management, game and event management, class scheduling, facility management and infrastructure improvements, budgets, and marketing.  His background and skills will greatly contribute to the continued success of our Adapted Kinesiology, Dance, Health, Intercollegiate Athletics, and Kinesiology departments, and we're excited to have him join our Saddleback family.  Clauss holds a Master of Arts in Education Emphasis in Two Year College Physical Education from Western Carolina University and a Bachelor of Science in Health Management from Southeast Missouri State University.

"I'm thrilled for the opportunity at Saddleback College," Clauss said.  "Saddleback has a great history and I can't wait to dig in and get started."

Clauss replaces Lipold, who spent 17 years at the college.
