Bio

Totorp started his tenure at Saddleback on January 28, 2019.  He took over for Tony Lipold, who was serving as an interim Athletic Director after an 18-year stint at the school. 

"I am extremely excited to join the administrative team at Saddleback and lead the Athletics Department," Totorp said.  "The opportunity for student athletes to participate in a sport they love provides a co-curricular experience that has a tremendous impact on their lives.  Saddleback has a rich history of athletic and academic excellence and I am truly honored and grateful to become a Gaucho."

Previous to Long Beach City, Totorp was the Director of Athletics and Kinesiology at El Camino College in Torrance for one year.  Previous to that he was the Interim Athletic Director at Long Beach City College from 2011-13.  Totorp started his career at LBCC as the men's volleyball coach, winning three state titles (2004, 2006 & 2009) and seven Western State Conference titles. 

Totorp was a volleyball player at Long Beach City College in 1994-95 before transferring to San Diego State University.  He received a bachelor's degree from San Diego State in social science before earning a master's degree in physical education from Azusa Pacific University (2001).   In addition, he received a teaching credential from Cal State Dominguez Hills in 1999.
