Bobcats blaze a trail at San Diego Kickoff
The Saddleback women's cross country team picked up its first win of the season at the San Diego Kickoff on Friday at Harry Griffith Park in San Diego. Payton Love led the way for a second straight time, winning the individual honors.
Love was among five Saddleback harriers that all finished in the top 13 in a race that featured a total of 39 runners. She finished the two-mile trek in 13:53 to beat her closest competitor by 28 seconds.
Christina Bernik also had a top-5 finish when she was third in a time of 14:24. Shae Barrera joined Love and Bernik in the top 10 when finishing eighth (15:18).
Saddleback had two others in the top 15 as Mia Arnwine and Midori McConathy finished dead even at 15:57 to finish 12th and 13th, respectively.
Saddleback will be back in action on September 15 at the SoCal Preview in Long Beach.
