Gauchos dominate Cerritos Invitational

The Saddleback women's cross country team was in rare form on Friday, dominating the Cerritos Falcon Invitational at Don Knabe Regional Park.  The Gauchos finished 1-2-4-5 as Dana McGrath won her third event of the season.

McGrath finished the 5k trek in 18:13.11, winning by nearly 40 seconds.  Teammate Nayelli Hernandez was second among the community college athletes, finishing in 18:52.42.  Saddleback also finished in fourth and fifth place, with Alexis Park and Cayla Porter giving the Gauchos two more top-5 performances.  Park crossed the tape in 18:56.56 while Porter finished in 19:03.09.

Other Orange Empire Conference programs included Orange Coast College and Santa Ana College.  OCC finished a distant second place in the team competition while Santa Ana was fourth.

Saddleback will be back in action next Friday at the Brubaker Invitational at Irvine Regional Park.
