Women’s XC ranked No. 3 in SoCal

The Saddleback women's cross country team was ranked third in the initial rankings by the 5CTCA this week.  The Gauchos have finished first and second in their first two meets of the year.

Saddleback finished fifth in the state in 2018 and won its first-ever Orange Empire Conference championship.  The Gauchos followed it up this season by winning their first meet of the season this year at the Tour de Cuesta and finishing second last weekend at the Palomar Invitational.

In the opening meet of the season Saddleback finished 3-4-5 in individual medalist competition, led by sophomore Dana McGrath.  The Aliso Niguel High School graduate then won the Palomar Invitational as the Gauchos finished second in team competition to Riverside City College.

Glendale opens the season as the No. 1 ranked team in Southern California, followed by Riverside City, Saddleback, Mt. San Antonio College and Los Angeles Harbor College.
